Columbus Day Boat Races!

Happy Columbus Day! Today, I used a Christopher Columbus stick puppet to teach the boys and girls some facts about Christopher Columbus. The Peeps all wanted to make one, too! Look at their fantastic coloring and cutting. We made our Christopher Columbuses as realistic as we could.

We made boats that can float, too! The Peeps were excited to race their boats. We blew air through straws to make our boats go faster. The sails on a boat are made to catch the wind as it blows!

We practiced our facts about Christopher Columbus. He was a brave explorer who never gave up. But he thought he landed in the Indies, when he really was in on island off of the coast of the new world.

Some friends enjoyed racing their boats again at center time!

Other friends wanted to practice the facts from our Christopher Columbus book!
